aardvark. i don't think our zoo has one. our zoo doesn't have much, really. it's basically just a glorified farm with a monorail. 'look, mom! cows!' i mean, a drive through western wisconsin is just as revealing. $7 to stare at a pile of recently-laid tapir poop? a half-chewed head of cabbage left by a rhino who's hiding in the back cage, just out of view? thanks, but no.

I was pretty excited about Aardvark day, i knew exactly what I was going to write and everything. Then i realized it was 'Aardvark' and not 'Spiny Anteater'. All my plans to write about protomammals and platypi were thrown out the window. Aardvarks are cool, I guess. It's a cool name, aardvark. I don't know, I guess it's just not that exciting once you know about spiny anteaters and protomammals. Another time.
